Are You 100% Good?

Dear Neighbour,

Have you noticed how we enjoy measuring – temperature, humidity, rainfall, severity of earthquakes, even school grades?  Numbers help us to mentally grasp how good/bad, high/low things are.  Many of us subconsciously grade ourselves spiritually.  On a sliding scale where would you mark the cross that represents your life?  Give it some serious thought before reading on and then place your mark:                                   V. Bad 0%——————————————————————————-V. Good 100%

For students generally a pass rate is 40% and so if you are getting C grades you’re considered good, B would be above average and A grades would mean you are an excellent student.  A man-made scale is fine for school but not for heaven.  Do you know that entrance to heaven requires you to be 100% good?  That’s God’s standard and shockingly, but not surprisingly, no-one qualifies!  No sin can enter the presence of a holy God.

Now that I have shocked you let me tell you the good news:  Jesus Christ paid in full for your sins with His own blood.  He was beaten, mocked and nailed to a cross and left to die in order to save you from eternal separation (hell) from God.  Your Saviour stands before you today with an amazing offer,  “Give me your sin and I will give you My goodness.” It is a divine exchange purchased with LOVE, transacted by FAITH and given FREELY to anyone who asks.  When God looks at believers He only has to see the blood covering to know that ín Christ’ we are 100% good and qualify for heaven.  What a relief that we can’t and don’t have to work to gain entrance!

Are you standing in your own righteousness?  Whose standard of goodness are you using – yours or God’s?  Only Jesus can make you ‘good enough’for heaven…no human being can please God by self-improvement, we believed in Jesus as the Messiah so that we might be set right before God by trusting in the Messiah, not by trying to be good…If a living relationship with God could come by rule-keeping, then Christ died unnecessarily. (Galatians 2:16,21 Message)  The blood of Jesus is the only passport that guarantees your eternal citizenship in heaven.  Today is the perfect time to make that divine exchange and secure your personal destiny.
