Enlarge Your Vision

Dear Neighbour,

Recently I read about a wonderful, true story that I would like to share with you…A famous golfer was invited by the king of Saudi Arabia to play in a golf tournament. In appreciation, the king asked him on his departure what he could buy him as a gift. Embarrassed, he replied that he did not expect anything but when he was pressed he casually mentioned that he collected golf clubs.  On his return home to the States, he wondered if the king would send him a gold-plated club with his name engraved on it.  To his surprise, a few weeks later, he received the title deed to a 500 acre golf course in America!!! Sometimes kings think differently to you and I.
I was so inspired by this story and my thoughts turned to Jesus, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  If an earthly king has such thoughts, what would be the thoughts be of the KING of Kings?!

I came to the conclusion that we wrongfully place limitations on God.  Those limitations are to be found in my own mind.  My thoughts and expectations create a barrier.   It is not God’s lack of resources or unwillingness to bless me but my wrong thinking and understanding of Him that keep me from becoming all that God wants me to be.  My own thoughts and attitudes condemn me to mediocrity.   It boils down to SMALL THINKING.

Let’s look at what God’s intentions for your life are.  These are HIS THOUGHTS for you and I:
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Earthly parents have dreams and plans for their children’s future and God, as our Heavenly Father has BIG plans for us.  The trouble is we think like human beings and have great difficulty comprehending the dreams of a God…

Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand,
Measured heaven with a span
And calculated the dust of the earth in a measure?
Weighed the mountains in the scales
And the hills in a balance?

(Isaiah 40: 12)

If you want this peace, hope and a good future today it can only be found IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD under the authority of the Jesus, the KING OF KINGS.

Myles Munroe is a pastor from the Bahamas to whom God has given the most incredible revelation of the kingdom of God.  I have bought a number of his books and whenever he preaches on Christian TV it is about…you guessed it, the kingdom of God.The first four books of the New Testament speak a lot about the kingdom of God.  We read about the ‘kingdom’ but we don’t really understand what a kingdom is because we live in a democracy.  A democracy functions on totally different principles than a kingdom e.g. presidents are ELECTED, unlike kings who are BORN to be king! The reason that Myles Munroe understands the kingdom concept is because the Bahamas was a British Colony before declaring independence.  In colonization, the idea is to make the adopted country ‘a little Britain’ – so they drive on the same side of the road as the ‘mother’ country, they sing ‘God save the Queen’ and show allegiance to her in the schools, the people  act, dress, drink tea and begin to take on the character of the United Kingdom.  The key person in charge of bringing about this transformation is the GOVERNOR of the Bahamas.  Myles equates him to the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives!  The HOLY SPIRIT is our Helper, our Comforter, our Teacher, the one who is responsible for changing our characters and making us more like Jesus every day.  I have just bought Myles’ latest book, ‘The Most Important Person on Earth’.  Yes, it’s about the Holy Spirit and I can’t wait to read it!

The key to change is to start thinking better of yourself and believing better of God.

You must have an image on the INSIDE of the life that you want to live on the OUTSIDE.

Jesus said, Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined.  But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.
(Matthew 9:17)

Like the wineskins, we become hardened and set in our ways, stuck in our small thinking.  We need to be renewed in our thinking so that God can fill our lives with ‘new wine’. The question to you, dear Neighbour, is whether you are willing to change?  Will you start thinking bigger?  Will you read God’s Word and find out what He wants to make of your life?  Will you ENLARGE YOUR VISION and get rid of those old negative mindsets that hold you back?

Step 1:  Make sure that you are IN the kingdom of God by asking Jesus Christ to be your Saviour – get a new wineskin! You were born physically, now be born spiritually!  It is a whole new beginning!

Step 2:  Once you know for sure that you are a citizen of God’s Kingdom, ask the Holy Spirit (the Governor) to reveal to you all the benefits that belong to a child of God.  (Try reading Psalm 103) and READ more of God’s Word to know His thoughts and plans for your life!  It’s all in the Bible.

Step 3:  Then LINE UP your thinking with God’s thinking, start confessing the truth with your mouth and as you bring your heart and your mouth together in agreement, you will experience the miraculous power of Jesus as He turns the water of your life into wine!

Enlarge your vision.  Believe better of the King today.   Like the famous golfer you will be greatly surprised at what the King will bring your way…
